Essence Festival of Culture – Friday at Caesars Superdome

The opening night of the Essence Festival of Culture on Friday evening, July 3rd, 2026 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. One of the most special nights of the three festival days through July 5th, 2026, the crowds swell and the evening gets started at 6:00 PM with performances by R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul and Gospel/Gospel Rap artists. While we do not yet have the performers for 2026, theirs still years of bringing the best of Black music, arts and culture to festival-goers we know that the excitement will continue. In addition to attending the shows at the Superdome, fun in the day will be available at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Attendees tickets are $104.

Essence Festival of Culture

The Essence Festival has evolved into a national celebration of Black culture, entertainment and empowerment. Great music performances honor the achievements of outstanding recording artists as well as give opportunity to new talent to be seen and heard.

Past performances have highlighted music from local to international celebrities such as Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige and more. The festival features informative panels discussing topics from education and social justice to activities designed for health and wellness.

There is also a Taste of New Orleans culinary exhibit that gives festivalgoers a sampling of the unique culture of our beloved city. Check with the official Essence website for an up-to-date list of performers and festival events.

Caesars Superdome Information

The Caesars Superdome is located at 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive, New Orleans, LA. You can be assured that the amenities found within this impressive modern facility will exceed your expectations. A multitude of food and beverage concession stands will feature all of the many flavors of New Orleans as well as a broad array of traditional festival and concession fare. Beverages including alcoholic beverages, wine and mocktails will also be available.

The Superdome can accommodate seating of up to 73,208 (76,468 depending upon seating configuration). The Caesars Superdome will be utilizing seating in all levels of the lower bowl, club level and upper level, as well as suites, bunker club lounges and disability seating areas. Please call the box office for disability seating arrangements. *The Superdome is a no re-entry facility so please plan accordingly*

Transportation Information

There are numerous parking garages and lots available to chose from surrounding the Caesars Superdome including Garage 1, 2, 5 & 6. Accessible parking is available at all facilities. In addition to on-site options, there is also ample public and pay parking throughout the surrounding neighborhoods of New Orleans. All of which are within walking distance to the Caesars Superdome.
